டில்லியில் ஈ.வே.ரா., மையத்தை முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி திறந்து வைக்க ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது. நகரத்திலிருந்து சற்று தள்ளியிருந்த இந்த மையம், ஞாயிறு அன்று மாலை 5 மணிக்கு திறப்பதாக ஏற்பாடு. தி.க., தலைவர் வீரமணி, மத்திய அமைச்சர்கள் பரூக் அப்துல்லா, வாசன் உட்பட அனைவரும் 5 மணிக்கே வந்து காத்திருந்தனர்.
ஆனால், கருணாநிதி 6 மணிக்குப் பிறகு தான் வந்தார். அழகிரி வீட்டிற்கு சென்று விட்டு வந்ததால் கால தாமதம் என்று சொல்லப்பட் டது. 45 நிமிடங்களுக்கு மேல் காத்திருந்த பரூக் அப்துல்லா, 'இனிமேல் காத்திருக்க முடியாது, கிளம்ப வேண்டும்' என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டேயிருந்தார். உடன் இருந்தவர்கள், இதோ வந்துவிட்டார் முதல்வர் என்று சொல்லி அப்துல்லாவை சமாதானம் செய்தனர். கடைசியில் முதல்வர் வர, விழா தொடங்கியது.
அதே சமயம், மையத்தைத் திறக்க முதல்வர் ராகு காலம் கழித்து வந்துள்ளாரே என்று விழாவிற்கு வந்திருந்தவர்கள் கமென்ட் அடித்தனர். காரணம் 4.30 - 6.00 ராகு காலம்.
